Kinja'd!!!

So this whole driving a classic car everyday is fun and all but I have a problem maybe some of yall know what I'm speaking of..

When I run my heater .. anti freeze comes through the vents .. the passenger side floor board was soaked in anti freeze the other day .. so now I've cleaned that shit up its still fogging my windows almost immediately after I turn my heater on ..

I'm thinking it must be the heater core leaking antifreeze .. but to be completely honest I have no fucking clue .. Please Help !

my assumption is also heater core. I had a busted one in my old Ford truck that leaked but never turned the heat on until I fixed it, so nothing ever sprayed through the vents.

Look on the bright side now you get to inspect all the wiring in the dash.

Put a BMW badge on the back and don't worry about them.

Bahaha the BMW Badge will give me immediate right of way ? sounds like a plan ..

Its rough as it is having to answer wether its a 240 260 or 280z ... not that it matters at all .. basically all the same thing ..

yeah that's the core. Arent you in a warm enough climate where you can just bypass it?

Kinja'd!!! DatASSun > 505Turbeaux

Kinja'd!!!0

nah man ... Even tho I'm in south central Texas it still gets cold here like mid 30's sometimes .. at the moment its in the 40's ..

If I was to bypass the heater core it would make my car less of a daily driver and I just never want to lose a argument about my car being a daily driver over not having a heater.. So I will keep it and stay warm ..

Just not quiet a race car yet buddy ..

Heater core.

Had to replace that on my old trans am when I still had it.

I have no idea I've never once had to take the dash off of any car I've owned so at the moment I'm trying not to get intimidated by the task of removing the dash..

The car currents has a dash cover that looks pretty shitty and I have no idea whats underneath it but I'd expect it to be pretty shitty ..

eh shitty or not, pretty simple process: Dash removal process:

-Remove steering wheel (18mm nut?)
-Remove knee kick panels
-Remove entire radio unit
-Remove all 10mm at mid level
-Remove vent control border & then you will see 2 more screws)
-Remove phillips screws at windshield
-Disconnect wiring harnesses @ passenger door A-pillar
-Pull dash out several inches
-Get under dash, reach up to speedo cable, & twist off.

Out comes dash.

for a 280z. You dont want the writeup on a 9000 blower motor or heater core :) but in case you are curious... http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/faq/9000he…
